Chapman LaneCafe · Gymea

From a Marrickville warehouse to your cup in Gymea.

Every coffee at Chapman Lane is made with beans from Double Roasters, an independent Sydney roaster that has been roasting in Marrickville since 2011.

How it started.

In 2011 three hospitality people, James Brown, Gary Parkes and Scott Robertson, began roasting coffee in a disused 1950s warehouse on Victoria Road, Marrickville. They served it over their own counter, talked tasting notes with every customer, and that little training bar grew into their flagship café.

Their house blend is called Flight Path, after the planes that rumble in low over Marrickville on their way into Sydney Airport.

As more cafés asked for their beans, the roasting moved in 2014 to a bigger home on Carrington Road. Today they roast and pack every week and buy their green coffee through direct trade, so they know where it comes from and can keep it consistent.
